Club Participation Guidelines
All photographs submitted to Snapshot Society should be original work. Images must clearly fit within one of the three categories: Wildlife, Nature, or Travel. Basic adjustments such as cropping or color correction are acceptable, but the overall integrity of the image should remain intact. The goal is to showcase authentic photography rather than heavily altered compositions.
Submissions should remain respectful and appropriate in content. Images that include copyrighted material without permission or offensive themes will not be considered. By submitting a photograph, the creator allows it to be displayed within the gallery and voting sections of the site. These guidelines are meant to keep the focus on strong visual work and fair participation.
Photography Categories
Wildlife Photography: Wildlife photography focuses on documenting animals in their natural environments without staged interference. This category emphasizes observation, timing, and patience. Photographers must be aware of lighting conditions, distance, and animal behavior to capture authentic moments. Whether photographing birds in motion or mammals within open landscapes, the goal is to present the subject clearly while maintaining environmental context. Images should reflect natural behavior rather than artificial setups.
Nature Photography: Nature photography highlights landscapes, natural formations, and environmental detail. This category includes mountains, forests, water scenes, weather conditions, and natural textures. Strong nature images rely heavily on composition and lighting, especially during sunrise or sunset when contrast and depth are more pronounced. The focus should remain on accurately representing the scene while using framing and perspective to guide the viewer’s attention.
Travel Photography: Travel photography captures locations, architecture, and cultural environments from different regions. This category is not limited to famous landmarks; it may include streets, local settings, or unique environmental features. Effective travel photography balances subject clarity with environmental context, allowing viewers to understand where the image was taken. The goal is to document place and atmosphere in a visually structured way.
